Calgary police have confirmed they are investigating the city’s latest murder.

Crews rushed to a Bankview residence on Wednesday afternoon, after witnesses called 911 saying they saw a man fall to the ground in front of the home.

EMS transported a 20-year-old Gatleak Thor Metkurjock to hospital in serious, potentially life-threatening condition. He died in hospital on Thursday.

After completing an autopsy on Friday, police have confirmed the cause of death is blunt force trauma and the death is now classified as a homicide.

Police don’t believe it was a random attack. They say the victim had been at a party inside the residence, where the others with him were known to him.
