Ellen Degeneres supports organ donation and Canadian content

TORONTO - Ellen Degeneres is all about Canadian content. Recently Helen Campbell, is one of five people that have made the trip to Ellen’s show in California.

Helen Campbell was diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis - a scarring or thickening of the lungs resulting in chest pain and shortness of breath.

To raise awareness for organ donation and giving blood, Helen first tweeted Justin Bieber. After his retweet, Ellen Degeneres picked up the news and contacted her via Skype.

Despite a potentially volatile double transplant surgery, 20 year-old Helen told Ellen, in a Skype interview that was featured on the show, she is determined to say positive.

Following a successful surgery Ellen has promised that Helen and her mother will be flown out to The Ellen Degeneres Show.
