Canadian beer ad for the Super Bowl going viral

, Youtube

TORONTO- What do you get when you put a group of small-town recreational hockey players together and add Budweiser into the mix?

Flash fan 2012: a flash mob surprise for an unsuspecting group of guys, which turns into a commercial for the beer giant that tugs on Canadian heartstrings everywhere. The video already has more than 420,000 views.

The best part? It’s for Canadian-fans only to air during Super Bowl on Sunday.

Budweiser hijacked a recreational hockey league game in Port Credit, Ontario and created an emotional experience for Canadian viewers. Placing hundreds of improv extras in the stands, sportscasters can be heard calling the plays while fans with team flags and mascots cheer them on.

Labatt Brewing, which distributes the beer in Canada, has seized an opportunity for Canadian fans to enjoy the commercial breaks of an American game. But it’s not just Budweiser that is catering to Super Bowl fans north of the border. Here are some other Canadian commercials you’ll be able to watch on Sunday starting with Alexander Keith's IPA commercial.

This ad for Pepsi has been running since January, but Canadian fans will see this again on Sunday.

For the first time ever, Samsung is airing the same Super Bowl commercial in Canada, as in the U.S.
