TORONTO - In the opening monologue segment set to air on her talk show Wednesday, Ellen DeGeneres speaks about the recent appeals court decision that the same-sex marriage ban in California is unconstitutional.

DeGeneres talks about her new spokesperson deal with JC Penney, which has been criticized by a Christian group called "One Million Moms." The group urged JC Penney to fire DeGeneres on their website, because “shoppers will be offended and choose to no longer shop there” since DeGeneres lacks “traditional values.”

The clothing store responded with a statement saying they stand by the openly-gay comedian, and that they share the same fundamental values as Ellen.
